Frequently asked questions

1. How do I know what level to choose?

This is how we define the 3 levels:

Elementary: You can already perform simple tunes, require further help in developing technique and wish to work slowly and carefully.

Intermediate: Your technique is established and you feel ready to stretch your boundaries. You are happy to work at a moderate speed.

Advanced: You are ready and willing to work faster, stretch yourself and be a bit adventurous. You are confident using advanced rhythms and chords.

2. What if I want to change level?

It's absolutely fine if you want to change level, though preferably not in the middle of a class! Also, remember that after the weekend you will get access to recordings of ALL 24 of the classes (all tutors and all levels) for 6 months, so you could choose to do e.g. the intermediate classes this weekend and then look at the elementary and/or advanced classes at a later stage.

Also remember that the beauty of the online format, unlike a live lesson, is that you don't need to worry about keeping up, because you can rewind and rewatch the recording as many times as you need!

3. How do I select which level I'm in? Do we need to let you know in advance?

No - you don't need to let us know in advance. You will have the timetable and all the zoom links for the weekend, so choose which level you think will be most appropriate and then follow that timetable. You will see that each tutor has a separate zoom link for their teaching room. At the lesson time, simply click on the link for your scheduled tutor!

4. What if I can't attend all the classes?

No problem! Again, everything is recorded, so just catch up in your own time! We'll aim to have everything online for rewatch by Monday hopefully.

5. How long will the videos be available?

You will get access to recordings of ALL 24 of the classes (all tutors and all levels) for 6 months after the end of the festival.
